This crazy rich Indian Muslim has donated IDR 28 trillion for the handling of COVID 19. He also defeated the richest man in Asia, Mukesh Ambani.

SuaraSumsel.id – The name Azim Premji is now in the public spotlight. This Indian Muslim Crazy Rich donated almost IDR 28 trillion to overcome COVID 19. Azim is one of the Muslim billionaires who is known to be a philanthropist.

According to a report, in 2020, this Indian businessman had contributed 10 times more money than Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani.

Azim founded the Azim Premji Foundation to develop the government’s primary school education system in rural areas since 2001. A total of two billion dollars or Rp. 28.6 trillion has been channeled to the foundation.

The amount of donation is believed to be the largest donation ever in India.

In the midst of the pandemic wave, the Azim Premji Foundation gave 1,000 crores or Rp. 2 trillion to deal with the pandemic.

The foundation also pledged 100 crores from Wipro and 25 crores from Wipro Enterprises, Azim’s company, for a total donation of 1,125 crores or equivalent to Rp 2.3 trillion.

Wipro is a multinational IT company in India. Last year, Azmi promised to donate 34 percent of Wipro’s shares to the foundation.

This good thing that Azim did was to leave a strong impression in the business world. He is noted to have a net worth of US$32.8 billion or Rp. 475 trillion.

Azim Premji was born in Mumbai, India on July 24, 1945. He became an entrepreneur following in the footsteps of his father, Mohamed Hashem Premji.
