GT Series lined up as a replacement for Realme X

Jakarta, Selular.ID – The Realme GT 5G, GT Master Edition, and Master Explorer Edition are set to launch in India on August 18, and just before the scheduled launch in the country, Madhav Sheth, Vice President, Realme and Chief Executive Officer, Realme India & Europe, has shared that the Realme X series brand will be replaced by the GT series.

To be more specific, Sheth told TechRadar, “The X will be replaced by the GT, obviously GT is the new X. While other smartphone series from the brand will not be affected by the launch of the GT series.

This marks the end of the journey of the Realme X series, which mainly operates in the mid to high price category, and offers several specifications that users can rely on.

As is well known, in recent years, the Realme X series produced some impressive and popular mid-range handsets such as the Realme X2 Pro, Realme X3 Superzoom Edition, Realme X7 Pro, and many others.

Considering that the Realme GT series seems to carry the same ethos as the X series, it makes sense that the brand would abandon the latter to make room for the former. If you are still wondering what you will get with the GT series, here are the specifications offered by the Realme GT 5G.

The Realme GT packs a 6.43-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel that houses a 16MP selfie camera on the front. Just like most premium mid-range phones, Realme’s offering also offers a smooth 120Hz screen refresh rate. To make the deal even sweeter, the display can reach a peak brightness of 1000 nits and is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5.

This smartphone is supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, coupled with an Adreno 660 GPU and up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. . You’re even given 256GB of UFS 3.1 fast storage. On the software side, you will be greeted with the Realme UI custom skin based on Android 11 when you first boot up the Realme GT 5G.

The 4,500mAh battery, which might be considered a bit small by modern standards, is offset by support for 65W fast charging. In terms of optics, the Realme GT 5G has a triple camera setup on the back. This setup includes a 64MP main shooter, 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit. For security, this phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
