ATTACK President Joko Widodo stated that the Covid-19 pandemic that lasted more than a year had hit sectors of the national economy.
“And we should be grateful that the agricultural sector is able to survive, even the value of agricultural exports has increased in the last two years. This increase in exports of agricultural commodities will have an impact on the welfare of farmers,” he said, quoted through his official social media, Saturday (15/8/2021).
According to him, agricultural exports in 2020 reached Rp451.8 trillion, an increase of 15.79 percent compared to 2019 which reached Rp390.16 trillion. Then, in the first half of this year (January-June 2021) exports reached IDR 282.86 trillion, up 14.05 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
“Today, at the Bogor Palace, I virtually released agricultural commodity exports simultaneously from 17 Indonesian export gates to 61 destination countries. This event is a momentum to strengthen Indonesia’s agricultural commodity exports and marks the revival of the national economy in the midst of a pandemic,” he said.
The total value of exports of agricultural commodities through airports and seaports in various regions in Indonesia reached Rp7.29 trillion, in the form of 627.4 tons of plantation commodities, food crops, horticulture, livestock, and other commodities. The shipping destinations include China, the United States, India, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.
