Erling Haaland appeared fierce in the first week of the Bundesliga by scoring two goals and two assists in the win Borussia Dortmund atas Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2.
Haaland, who has been linked with move rumors in the transfer market, has been down since the first minute of the match against Frankfurt. As the main striker, Haaland got extra tight guard from opposing defenders.
This actually pushed Haaland to become a provider of assists for his colleagues in Dortmund’s first two goals. In the process of the first goal, Haaland’s ball made it easier for Marco Reus to score while in the second goal, it was Thorgan Hazard’s turn to maximize Haaland’s pass.
Haaland finally scored the first goal in the 34th minute which made the score 3-1. Haaland grabbed the ball in the Frankfurt defence, sprinted and coolly finished with a finish to beat Kevin Trapp.
Haaland’s second goal was the goal that made Dortmund lead 5-1 in the 70th minute. Haaland escaped the offside trap when he received Marco Reus’ through ball.
This record of two goals and two assists made Haaland start the Bundesliga this season with an impressive. Dortmund as a whole seemed to confirm that the departure of Jadon Sancho did not reduce their strength too much.
Despite winning 5-2, Dortmund had to settle for sitting in third place in the standings. Because they lost on goal difference to VfB Stuttgart and Hoffenheim. Stuttgart beat Greuther Fuerth 5-1 while Hoffenheim beat Augsburg 4-0.
