(SPEAKING) – PSG beat Strasbourg with a score of 4-2 in the duel in the second week of Ligue 1 2021/22, Parc des Princes, Sunday (15/8/2021).
PSG’s dominance was clearly seen with three goals in the first half through Mauro Icardi (3′), Kylian Mbappe (25′), and Julian Draxler (27′).
Strasbourg fought back and capitalized on PSG’s slack in the second half with two goals through Kevin Gameiro (53′) and Ludovic Ajorque (64′). However, PSG locked the win through Pablo Sarabia’s action in the 86th minute.
This is PSG’s second win in Ligue 1, 6 points from two matches. Interestingly, this match is also a moment of introduction to new players such as Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos.
The course of the match
PSG immediately kicked off from the start of the match. In the 3rd minute, Diallo’s cross was met by Icardi’s perfect header to beat Sels. Goal! PSG 1-0 Strasbourg.
This goal makes PSG more intense attack. Several opportunities were created until the 20th minute, no goals were created.
The 25th minute, PSG scored the second goal. This time it was Mbappe’s turn to meet Draxler’s pass with a hard kick, the ball turned because of Ajorque’s touch and outwitted Sels. Goal! PSG 2-0 Strasbourg.
In the 27th minute, it was Draxler’s turn to score his own goal. This time through a wild ball from Mbappe’s cross that failed to be completely discarded, Drazler stood free at the far post. Goal! PSG 3-0 Strasbourg.
3-0 score did not change until the end of the first 45 minutes. PSG looks very dominant playing at home.
The second half, PSG loosened the game. Strasbourg managed to score a goal back in the 53rd minute through Gameiro’s header. Goal! PSG 3-1 Strasbourg.
The 64th minute, Strasbourg again scored one goal. This time through Ajorque’s header which welcomed Lienard’s pull bait. Goal! PSG 3-2 Starsbourg.
Playing too casually made PSG almost lose the advantage. Finally, in the 86th minute, Sarabia scored PSG’s fourth goal to end the match. Sarabia’s low cross was completed by Sarabia. Goal! PSG 4-2 Strasbourg.
There were no additional goals in the remaining matches. PSG picked up 3 more points in the second week of Ligue 1 with a 3-0 win over Strasbourg.
