TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) received assistance in the form of 150 units of oxygen cylinders.
The oxygen cylinder was a gift from CropLife Indonesia.
CropLife Indonesia and several related ministries (Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Environment) work together to support the availability of oxygen for Covid-19 patients through the Donation for Brothers and Sisters of the Nation program.
Representing the Ministry of Health, Eka Jusup Singka, said the effort to provide oxygen cylinders could help the government overcome the problem of shortage of medical oxygen cylinders due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Physical tube donations, he said, had been received by the Ministry of Health on July 21, 2021.

“It has been distributed to various areas in need. This assistance is very helpful for Covid-19 patients who need oxygen assistance,” he said, in a statement received on Saturday (14/8/2021).
The Ministry of Health explained that in Indonesia the annual oxygen production capacity reaches 866,000 tons/year with a production utilization of 638,900 thousand per year, with a composition of 75% used for industry and only 25% for medical use.
Due to the increasing demand for medical oxygen, conversion is carried out. Through this conversion, the amount of oxygen that can be obtained to meet national needs reaches 575,000 tons.
Based on data from the Ministry of Health, currently the total need for oxygen for intensive care and isolation of COVID-19 patients reaches 1,928 tons/day, while the available capacity is 2,262 tons/day.
Thus, it is targeted that the Java-Bali region can supply 2,262 tons of oxygen per day.
Meanwhile, Executive Director Agung Kurniawan said that his party has a high concern for the importance of maintaining health, safe use and safety, this is reflected in the activities carried out by CropLife Indonesia and all members of the company.

This donation for our fellow countrymen was also realized for the support and quick and responsive response from several parties, including Mercy Corps and several distributors in the supply of existing Oxygen Cylinders (Samator, Lindee, Aneka Gas, PT. SUG, PT. SSB, PT. DAM and ARC, Indonesian Community Service Foundation).
