JATIM.POSKOTA.CO.ID – Indonesian President Joko Widodo released agricultural commodity exports simultaneously from 17 Indonesian export gates to 61 destination countries, Saturday (14/8/2021).
The export value reached Rp7.29 trillion, in the form of 627.4 tons of plantation commodities, food crops, livestock, etc., which were sent to America, Europe and other Asian countries.
“The Covid-19 pandemic that has lasted more than a year has hit sectors of our economy. And we should be grateful that the agricultural sector was able to survive, even the value of agricultural exports in the last two years has increased,” said President Joko Widodo via virtual.
Of course, this increase in exports of agricultural commodities will have an impact on the welfare of farmers.
Agricultural exports in 2020 reached IDR 451.8 trillion, up 15.79 percent compared to 2019 which reached IDR 390.16 trillion.
In the first half of this year (January-June 2021) exports reached IDR 282.86 trillion, up 14.05 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
“Today, at the Bogor Palace, I am releasing virtually simultaneous exports of agricultural commodities from 17 Indonesian export gates to 61 destination countries,” said Jokowi.
This event is a momentum for strengthening Indonesia’s agricultural commodity exports and marking the revival of the national economy in the midst of a pandemic.
