MINANGKABAUNEWS.COM, PADANG PANJANG – Friendly members of the West Sumatra Province Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from the Gerindra faction, handed over nine units of agricultural machinery (alsintan) to nine farmer groups (Keltan) in the city of Padang Panjang, in Fish Seed Center (BBI) Padang Panjang. Thursday (12/8/2021).
Mesra said that the machineries assistance in the form of two-wheeled tractors to these nine keltans was to support the smooth operation of rice cultivation, which was sourced from the thoughts of the Department of Plantation, Food Crops and Horticulture of the Province of West Sumatra.
“Hopefully this alsintan assistance can be used by Keltan to increase agricultural output for the community,” hoped Mesra.
In addition to hand tractor machines, continued Mesra, there were also assistance in the form of 134 units of lawn mowers and 23 units of water pumps.
“We will continue to work together to help the people in Padang Panjang City, especially in the agricultural sector. Because we know that in general, many people in Padang Panjang depend on agriculture for their livelihoods,” explained Mesra.
Meanwhile, the Mayor, Fadly Amran, representing the people of Padang Panjang, thanked Mesra for distributing aid to farmers in this city.
“During this pandemic, farmers are having difficulty producing. Alhamdulillah, the presence of Mrs. Mesra in our midst is very useful to ease the burden on farmers,” he explained.
Fadly said, this assistance was extraordinary. For this reason, it is hoped that the Keltan will be able to make the best use of it, and also be reminded of its maintenance.
Fadly also did not forget to remind all members of the Keltan to always maintain their health during the pandemic by complying with health protocols so as not to be exposed to the Covid-19 virus, as well as inviting them to immediately vaccinate.
“Don’t be afraid to get vaccinated, because vaccines are the last bastion in our bodies to fight the Corona virus, which will increase our immunity. We hope that when all of us have been vaccinated, our immunity will increase and later when we meet we will no longer have to be afraid to shake hands,” concluded the Mayor of Padang Panjang.
