PROFESI-UNM.COM – The Chancellor of the Makassar State University (UNM) Husain Syam appealed to new UNM students to get involved in the organization. He stated this in the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) UNM, Thursday (12/8).

Husain Syam said students are not only strong in academics but are expected to be active in organizations.

“The organization is prepared for those of you who want to progress to become a great person, both intellectually, organizationally, as well as interests and talents,” he said.

He also said that students can improve soft skill through the Student Activity Unit (UKM) at UNM.

“All were facilitated, 13 university SMEs. Don’t be negative, don’t take care of what’s not your business, ask how much money, “he said.

Furthermore, Husain told his experience when he became an activist. He admitted that he was also born as an activist when he was a student.

“I used to be an activist, graduated 3.5 years, cum laude and can be the best student from a number of graduates of IKIP Ujung Pandang,” he said.

Finally, Husain also said, great activists are activists who can complete their studies on time. He appealed to student activists to balance academics and organizations.

“Don’t be too much of an activist, after seven years, it’s the same” you torture your parents,” he said.
