The Department of Trade, Industry, SME Cooperatives (Diskopukmperindag) of Mojokerto City held training on negotiation techniques in dealing with bad loans and other cooperative problems. This training was held in the context of controlling the compliance of cooperatives with the statutory regulations on the authority of the district/city.

When opening the training, the Mayor of Mojokerto Ika Puspitasari advised that this training could be used as best as possible to solve cooperative problems. He hopes that the benefits of cooperatives in groups can also be utilized by members while supporting the regional and national economy.

“Take advantage of this opportunity so that the knowledge gained can be put into practice in managed cooperatives,” he said in a written statement, Monday (23/8/2021).

Furthermore, the mayor, who is familiarly called Ning Ita, appealed to members/customers to avoid debt collectors in order to avoid new problems. Moreover, the Depcollector is not profitable for both parties, both cooperatives and customers/members.

“Because of this, it is important that the management of cooperatives has negotiation skills in order to be able to resolve bad loans and other cooperative problems. The basic principle of cooperatives is to be resolved amicably,” he said.

On the other hand, Head of the Mojokerto City Diskopukmperindag, Ani Wijaya, said the training was aimed at preparing anticipatory steps in the event of bad loans or non-performing loans in cooperatives.

Through the training, participants are also expected to be able to understand the causes of non-performing loans/loans and determine the resolution and understand the process of write-offs and write-offs in cooperative loans.

In its implementation, Ani noted that there were 70 members of the cooperative who participated in the training. In practice, the training was divided into two sessions and each consisted of 35 people. The first session was held on Thursday-Saturday, and the second session took place in the Magersari District hall which took place from 23-25 August 2021.

Ani also said that the training this time was still implementing strict health protocols. All participants have also undergone COVID-19 vaccination, even most have followed the rapid antigen.
