Welcoming the 76th Indonesian Independence Day, the Sibolga Police Chief Plants 2,076 Magrove Seeds – Online Alert

SIBOLGA, – In order to welcome the 76th Indonesian Independence Day, the Sibolga Police Chief, AKBP Taryono Raharja SH SIK, planted 2,076 Rhizofora SP mangrove seedlings to preserve the environment, Saturday (7/8).

It is said, in addition to preserving the environment on the coast of Sibolga. The planting of mangrove seedlings is done to prevent abrasion due to sea waves.

The planting location activities were carried out in the Pertamina Zoom Bufer area, Jalan Sibolga Baru, Pasar Behind Village, Sibolga Kota District, which was guided directly by mangrove plant expert Wibi Nugraha.

“The expert also explained to us the procedure for planting mangrove trees, especially in the Sibolga city area which is a coastal area. The situation is that the sea water is wavy between a height of 80 cm to a height of 1 meter and is facing the Indian Ocean,” said Taryono.

Under these conditions, he continued, the planting method cannot be carried out directly. Instead, by using bamboo as a protective medium as high as 1 meter (pot method).

“Filled with rocks, clay and mud then wrapped in sacks,” he said.

This mangrove planting is in synergy with Pertamina Sibolga, youth organizations, youth organizations and environmental organizations. Also attending the event were Head of Pertamina Fuel Terminal Manager Sibolga, Wisnu Eka Baskara, Deputy Head of Police, Commissioner R Sihombing, SH, Head of P4BSU Jamil Zebtumori, PJU Polres Sibolga and head of youth organizations and planting experts.
