jpnn.com, JAKARTA – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk provides financial support in the form of distributing People’s Business Credit (KUR) to porang farmers.
BNI’s Director of Institutional Relations Sis Apik Wijayanto stated that the support was aimed at increasing the export value of the porang commodity.
“BNI’s support for the porang commodity sub-sector agriculture will continue to be increased in line with the increase in export value and the expansion of the porang commodity planting area,” he said in an official statement in Jakarta, Sunday (22/8).
Sis Apik said that porang, which is a type of tuber plant, is an alternative business that has considerable and promising potential to be developed.
The distribution of KUR BNI in the agricultural sector is done in clusters and covers the ecosystem from upstream to downstream.
“In addition, BNI empowers MSMEs to expand market access through the Xpora program which supports export-oriented products,” he said.
He said that the distribution of KUR to porang farmers is an effort by the company to support government programs in the agricultural sector.
This is in line with President Joko Widodo’s efforts to continue to encourage porang to become an exported agricultural commodity and a new mainstay of food sources in the country.
