3 Ways to Save Unfinished Soto Ayam, Advice from Professional Chefs

KOMPAS.com – Soto ayam is a soupy dish made from vegetables, eggs, gravy, and shredded chicken.

Soto ayam is generally eaten while it is still warm. However, this dish can also be stored after cooking.

Wahyu said the chicken soup can last three days if stored properly.

1. Put in a closed container

An important tip in storing soto ayam is to put the ingredients for soto in a closed container.

“Save the soto sauce and condiment Soto that is cooked in a closed container,” said Wahyu.

2. Save separately

Soto ayam consists of two ingredients, namely dry ingredients such as vegetables and soun, and hot soto sauce.

If you want to store soto to make it more durable or not easily stale, Wahyu suggests storing the ingredients separately.

“Keep the gravy and condiments separate, don’t combine them,” said Wahyu.

3. Save in chiller

“If you have finished eating and there are still leftovers, it’s better to cool it down and store it in chiller,” said Wahyu.

Wahyu said the chicken soup should be stored in the refrigerator with a temperature below five degrees Celsius. Because, temperatures above five degrees Celsius are categorized as danger zone.

“If in culinary that we know there is a name danger zone, that’s a temperature of 5-63 degrees Celsius, the temperature of bacteria is growing,” said Wahyu on the live Instagram NGOENYAH “Crispy Chat” @my.foodplace, Thursday (19/8/2021).

“So, if you have finished eating and there are still leftovers, it’s better to cool it down and store it in the chiller,” he explained.
