KOMPAS.com – One of the participants of MasterChef Indonesia Season 8, Nadya, made baked alaska in the episode, Saturday (21/8/2021).
Nadya makes each layer of cake for baked alaska alone. However, you can use ready-made sponge cakes when making baked alaska to shorten the time.

Recipe baked alaska
- 300 ml double cream
- 300 ml milk
- 1 vanilla bean (soft and fresh)
- 3 chicken egg yolks
- 100 g gula castor
- 3 chicken egg whites
- 175 g gula castor

- 2-3 tbsp cherry jam
- Ready-to-use sponge cake, diameter 20 cm with a thickness of about 2.5 cm

How to make baked alaska:
1. Pour cream and milk into a saucepan to make vanilla ice cream. Scrape off the vanilla seeds and pods, then add the vanilla beans and pods to the pot.
You can also replace fresh vanilla with vanilla extract. Heat the mixture until it boils.
2. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside for an hour or until cool so that the vanilla flavor permeates into the mixture. Remove the vanilla and discard.
