TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Despite having recovered from Covid-19 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or CDC recommends that Covid-19 survivors continue to get the vaccine. Even so, giving vaccines to Covid-19 survivors should not be done in a hurry because it depends on the treatment received.
Quoted from fox61.com, Infectious Disease Specialist Michael Rajkumar said Covid-19 survivors did not have to wait three months to get vaccinated. According to him, after being declared cured of Covid-19, survivors should isolate themselves for ten years, if they do not have any symptoms, they can be vaccinated.
While the CDC does recommend that COVID-19 survivors wait 90 days, he said, the goal is for other people who need the vaccine to get it first.
Because Covid-19 survivors have antibody which is stronger than vaccines, so the chance of reinfection is very low. “In the first 90 days after Covid-19 infection, the chance of reinfection is very low (in Covid-19 survivors),” Rajkumar said.
