Prices and Specifications for the Governor and Deputy Governor of West Sumatra Official Cars

Purchase official car The new price is billions for the Governor of West Sumatra (Boast) and his deputy received the public spotlight after being insinuated by West Sumatra DPRD member Nofrizon because it was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic. The two cars are diesel SUVs, namely the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport for the governor and the Hyundai Palisade for the deputy governor.

So far, it is not known which variant was purchased for the procurement of official transportation equipment for the two officials. However, based on the official websites of each brand, the cheapest Pajero Sport is IDR 507.8 million and the most expensive is IDR 738.7 million.

While the Palisade is currently sold from Rp. 788 million for the lowest variant, while the most expensive is Rp. 1.09 billion.

Specifications of Pajero Sport

Pajero Sport is an SUV made by Mitsubishi factory in Indonesia. This car just got a design refresh last February.

One of the new touches on this car is the 18-inch rim design, shark fin, to the rear door which can now be opened automatically by waving the foot under the bumper.

In the cabin of the Pajero Sport this car is equipped with a new 8-inch head unit with Smartphone-Link Display Audio (SDA). Then there are features such as New 8-inch LCD Meter Cluster, Multi Around View Monitor, New Design Dual Zone Climate Control AC, New Auto Dimming Rear-view Mirror, New Hand Free Steering Switch, New Floor Console, and New AC Power Outlet.

The Pajero Sport is powered by a 4N15 2.4L VGT-Intercooler diesel that is capable of producing 178.5 hp at 3,500 RPM and 429.5 nm of torque at 2,500 RPM. There are two transmission options in this car, namely a 5-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic with a paddle shifter option.

The Pajero Sport is a 7-seater SUV with rear wheel drive, but Mitsubishi also provides a 4×4 drive type as the most expensive variant.

Palisade Specifications

The Palisade is Hyundai’s largest SUV. Different from the Pajero Sport, the Palisade is front-wheel drive but is also available in a four-wheel drive (AWD) variant as the highest variant.

The size of the Palisade is larger than the Pajero Sport and also has a more luxurious class. In addition to being spacious, the cabin of this seven-passenger SUV is the captain seat in the second row. The interior of the seats are also covered with premium Nappa leather.

There is a dual sunroof feature that can give a different impression to the cabin to the rear passengers. Another advantage in this car is that it has a USB plug for seven passengers, a wireless charger, and an 8-inch head unit.

This SUV has a sturdy and muscular design in its body. While the legs are equipped with 18-inch rims for the lowest variant, the other two variants use 20 inches.

The Palisade is equipped with an R 2,200 cc CRDi 4-cylinder diesel engine with e-VGT that produces 197.2 hp and 440 nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that can be adjusted using a shift-by-wire (SBW) type switch.

There are also several driving modes such as comfort, eco, sport, and smart. There are also other modes that can be selected according to the type of track, namely SNOW, MUD, and SAND.

West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi when asked about his new official car said he did not know what type. He said the purchase was in accordance with the budgeted price and was made because the old car was not safe because it had a history of damage.

“The important thing is that I (the price) is below the budget, which is Rp. 1.4 billion, but I am even cheaper,” said Mahyeldi.

West Sumatra Deputy Governor Audy Joinaldy explained that the purchase of these two official cars was below the budget ceiling of Rp. 3 billion. The cost incurred for the purchase is called IDR 2 billion.
