I’m well! PCR Test Costs in Batam Starting to Drop

Batam – A number of hospitals in Batam City, Riau Islands (Kepri) have reduced the rate of PCR swab tests based on the Minister of Health Regulation (Permenkes) numbered HK.02.02/I/2845/2021 concerning the Highest Rate Limit for RT-PCR Examination.

In the letter, the highest tariff for RT-PCR examinations outside Java-Bali decreased by Rp. 525 thousand. Meanwhile, in Java and Bali, it was Rp. 495 thousand.

In Batam, such as at Awal Bros Hospital, previously the PCR swab test at the hospital was Rp. 888 thousand, now it has decreased to Rp. 525 thousand.

Meanwhile, Budi Kemuliaan Hospital (RSBK) has also adjusted the rate for the PCR swab test service provided.

Head of the Medical Services Division, Dr. Eveline Limbong, said that tomorrow the RSBK will adjust the price of the PCR test in accordance with government regulations.

“Tomorrow it has gone down, tomorrow’s price revision will also be in accordance with government regulations,” he said.

For tracing and testing, said Evelin, close contact, which includes government programs, is free of charge.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) requested that the PCR test rate be reduced between Rp. 450 thousand to Rp. 550 thousand for one test. Previously, the Ministry of Health applied a maximum tariff of IDR 900 thousand.

President Jokowi also asked that the results of the PCR test could be out 1×24 hours. The goal is to accelerate the tracking of COVID-19 in the country. Some regional laboratories can take up to five days to process a PCR test
