PADANG, hantaran.co — PT Jasa Raharja West Sumatra (Sumbar) Branch planted Mangrove seedlings in Nagari Sungai Pinang, Koto XI Sub-district, Tarusan, Pesisir Selatan, on Saturday (14/8/2021). This activity is one of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs in preserving nature.
On this occasion, Jasa Raharja handed over 4,000 mangrove seedlings to the Andespin Group (Children of Sungai Pinang Village). The handover was carried out symbolically by the Head of PT Jasa Raharja West Sumatra, Agung Tri Gunardi and received directly by the Chairman of ANDESPIN, David Hidayat.
Head of PT Jasa Raharja West Sumatra, Agung said, the mangrove planting was carried out in the context of carbon sequestration efforts. In addition, it also saves the coastal environment in the Nagari Sungai Pinang area from the threat of abrasion.
“Mangrove plants were chosen for planting because they have many leaves that function as carbon sinks compared to other plants,” said Agung, yesterday.
He explained, PT Jasa Raharja as a company appointed by the government to organize the Basic Accident Protection Program for General Passengers and Road Traffic. In addition, he is always committed to playing an active role and contributing to the community and the environment, one of which is through this Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) work program. On that occasion, he participated in coastal community empowerment activities.
