Grandchildren of the Old Village ‘Gamlaha’ Commemorate the 76th Indonesian Independence Day

Abadikini.com, TIDORE – The old village of ‘Gamlaha’ became the location for the commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, by residents of three Rum Villages, Tidore Islands City.

The implementation of the ceremony, in addition to commemorating the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, is also to remind posterity that their ancestors once lived in the Old Village called “Gamlaha”.

Before moving to Rum, the old village of gamlaha was inhabited until 1957 and in 1960 it was changed to the village of Rum which was pioneered by Ahmad Kahar as the first village head, Tuesday (17/8/2021).

At present, Gamlaha’s old village has been turned into a garden where monthly and annual crops have been planted, after the residents of Gamlaha moved and settled in Kampung Rum. This old village is located in the hills, exactly 1 kilometer from Rum Village.

During the ceremony for the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, he acted as the inspector of the Thursday Sama ceremony and the commander of the Kinau Miraj ceremony. The ceremony was attended by a number of community leaders, Babinsa, and students.

The commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in the old village of Gamlaha was held at the initiative of the three Rum Villages together with the approval of the Rum Village government.

“The implementation of this activity is intended so that the community can participate in the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, even though it is simple, and also as an effort to remember the history of the glory of the old village of Gamlaha in the past,” said Yahyudin Miraj, one of the youth leaders.
