KSAL Releases Warship KRI Pollux – 935, What Does Pollux Mean?

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Chief of Naval Staff or KSAL has released the KRI Pollux – 935, the latest domestically produced warship of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) by PT Karimun Anugerah Sejati. This ship will immediately strengthen the Navy’s defense equipment, especially the Navy’s Hydro-Oceanography Center (Pushidrosal) after going through the Shipnaming and Delivery stages which were attended by the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral Yudo Margono, SE, MM, at the PT. Karimun Anugerah Sejati, Batam, Riau Islands.

Pollux as the name for KRI Pollux – 935, also called Beta Geminorum, is an orange giant star located at a distance of 34 light years from Earth, is in the constellation Gemini. Pollux is the brightest star in the night sky, also the brightest in the constellation, when compared to its twin alpha Geminorum. This star has a radius of 8.8 times, and its brightness is around 32 times Sun. Because Pollux is more massive than Sun, this star is estimated to be older than Sun.
